Research Interest
My research focuses on the genetics of adaptation. I am particularly interested in investigating the consequences of genetic interactions (epistasis) for rates and patterns of molecular evolution, and in understanding the potentially non-adaptive consequences of natural selection. The lab uses a variety of approaches to address these questions, including microbial experimental evolution, next-generation sequencing, and inference of historical evolutionary processes from comparative genomic and molecular population genetic data. I am currently seeking students at all levels (undergraduate, Honour’s, Msc, and PhD) to join the lab. Projects may include lab-based studies of genetic interactions during pathogen adaptation, as well as computational.
