Biography
Professor Pettit is currently an associate professor at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. His research interests involve nonlinear dynamical systems, stochastic phenomena, system identification, uncertainty quantification, fluid-structure interaction, design optimization and experimental techniques which have applications in structural dynamics, wind engineering, aeroelasticity of buildings, bridges and air vehicles, seismic wave propagation, near-ground atmospheric sound propagation and battlefield sensor performance forecasts.
