Research Interest
Light interacts with living systems at the molecular level, with ultra-high spatial and temporal resolution; this renders optical imaging and spectroscopy ideal for investigating disease mechanisms. My research interest focuses on developing novel optical microscopy and spectroscopy techniques for studying the molecular basis of disease and its early detection. Examples of such techniques include multimodal optical microscopy and spectroscopy techniques such as coherent Raman imaging, two-photon fluorescence imaging, second harmonic generation imaging and Raman spectroscopy. I am keen on translating these optical techniques from the benchtop to the bedside in a compact endoscopic platform. I am also interested in using gold nanoparticles for live cell molecular imaging and biosensing applications.
