Biography
Janet has a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University. She received her MA in Sociology from the University of Waterloo. After working for 10 years in the Sociology department at the University of Edinburgh, Janet returned to Canada to take up a position in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton, where she was made full professor in 1998. She is cross-appointed to the Institute of Political Economy.
