Joana Rocha
Professor
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Carleton University
Canada
Biography
Dr. Joana Rocha joined the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, at Carleton University, in Ottawa, Ontario, as an Assistant Professor, in July 2012. Dr. Rocha research program main focus is aeroacoustics, structural-acoustics, and turbulence modelling with applications in aerospace. Through her research, Dr. Rocha aims to design and develop new concepts of aircraft structures that are quieter. Before joining Carleton University, Dr. Joana Rocha was a Visiting Researcher at NASA Langley Research Centre and National Institute of Aerospace, in Virginia, USA, and holds a Ph.D. and a M.A.Sc., both from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia.
