Biography
Paul Kariouk teaches design studios across the curriculum as well as an undergraduate lecture course on the modern designed landscape. He received his professional degree from Columbia University; has more than twenty-five years of experience in the profession and is licensed to practice architecture by the States of New York and the Province of Ontario. Kariouk is the Principal of Kariouk Associates, his professional office that focuses upon residential and commercial commissions, landscape, and museum installations. The work of Kariouk Associates has received many awards, including those of the American Institute of Architects, and has been exhibited in museums and galleries including New York’s Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian National Design Museum, Storefront for Art and Architecture, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; likewise, Kariouk speaks regularly on CBC Radio and other local media as a guest commentator on issues of urban and public space.
