Research Interest
Primary field of Specialization: Population Health; Spatial Data Analysis; Health Geography Research Interests: The essence of my research is on the study of small places and small spaces in an era of big data and global health. The substantive areas of my research are varied, but they are linked by a strong focus on spatial inequalities and the measurement of these in small places, whether health determinants, health resources, or environmental risks. My active research projects include: small-area rate variation for high-cost health users; small-area population projection methodologies and chronic disease burden; industrial emissions and socio-economic correlates; and, modelling population processes in small and remote communities. Each of these projects is grounded in a commitment to conduct research informed by the communities where they are based and the subjects under study.
