Biography
Stefania Maggi Associate Professor Degrees: Ph.D. (British Columbia)
Research Interest
Dr. Maggi is an interdisciplinary scholar concerned with the well-being of children and youth and their social determinants. She works in partnership with several community and governmental organizations in Canada and internationally to promote community resilience and healthy child development. She has published technical reports, peer reviewed articles and is engaged in various knowledge mobilization initiatives. Her expertise is in the fields of epidemiology, population health, social determinants of health, child development, mixed-methods research, community based research, and participatory methods with young children. Dr. Maggi is the founder of a SSHRC funded international partnership, the Kids in Places Initiative (KIPI) that aims at promoting community resilience and healthy child development in Canada and Italy. She is an executive member of the Landon Pearson Centre for the Studies of Childhood and Children’s Rights and an advocate for the promotion of children’s rights in psychological and community based research.
