Research Interest
The laboratory focuses on molecular mechanisms of plant disease resistance in wheat, tomato and Arabidopsis. We try to identify and manipulate key signal transduction pathways to enhance plant resistance to pathogen attacks. The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway is a key pathway in plant defense. Functional genomics and proteomics approaches are applied. The proteins are analyzed by two-dimensional electrophoresis (2DE), matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF), and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
