Biography
Louis-Eric Joubert joined the Fire and Explosions team of CEP in August 2011. As an origin and cause investigator based out of the Toronto (Oshawa) office, Louis-Éric has participated in numerous investigations involving residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Louis-Éric carries out on-site accident investigations, case studies and prepares technical investigation reports. He also performs laboratory testing to verify hypotheses related to the nature and cause of accidents. Louis-Éric is a Professional Engineer in Ontario, an engineer in the Province of Quebec with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering as well as a Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. Louis-Éric is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI). He is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), American Institue of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). Before joining CEP, Louis-Éric worked four years in Texas performing Facility Siting and Quantitative Risk Assessments for many refining and petrochemical plants across America, Europe and Asia. He has also conducted performance tests on fixed industrial fire suppression systems, supported hazardous area electrical equipment classification studies as well as gained knowledge of process safety management studies such as LOPA and HAZOP. He has also worked in the Building Code consulting field in Toronto, where he applied Building Code requirements towards new or existing residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
