Biography
Olivier Biron joined the multidisciplinary team of CEP Quebec in April 2013. Olivier holds a Bachelor Degree in civil engineering, obtained in 2011 at Laval. Olivier has acquired a considerable experience in the field of construction and structures. Prior to joining CEP, Olivier was a technologist, then junior engineer at CIME Consultants inc. He then mainly participated in projects concerning multi-story concrete and steel buildings as well as rain water management systems. As a forensic engineer, Olivier carries out on-site investigations and prepares technical investigation reports. He is called to participate in files where failures have occurred to buildings or structures, such as concrete element failures (cracking, disaggregation, scaling, etc.), foundation movements and failure or collapse of structures (wood, steel and concrete). He also verifies compliance of elements with standards and good practices. When required, he performs laboratory tests, studies and structural modeling to validate his hypotheses on the nature and cause of damage. As of today, he has performed approximately 500 investigations.
