Biography
Dr. Nada Farhat obtained her PhD from the Université de Montreal, Department of Pharmacology in 2013. During her graduate training at Montreal Heart Institute, Dr. Farhat discovered a new protein with proinflammatory and pro-oxidant proprieties. She further showed that this protein is implicated in development of cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis. As a result of her doctoral studies, Dr. Farhat has authored or co-authored more than 15 manuscripts plus two patents. Her doctorate work has been cited in numerous publications and formed the basis for new discoveries in the field. During her graduate training, Dr. Farhat also served as a lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the Université de Montreal.
