Biography

Brian J. Cook is Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Cook has held a variety of human resources and labor relations positions in both subsidiary and corporate units since 1981. His human resources responsibilities include compensation and benefits, labor and employee relations, leadership development and succession planning, recruiting and staffing, training and development, occupational safety, business continuity and workforce diversity. In 2013, he assumed accountability for the corporate communications function, including corporate reputation, media relations, and executive communications and employee communications. Cook received a bachelor’s degree in management and finance and an MBA from Virginia Tech. Cook graduated from DePaul University College of Law and is licensed to practice in Illinois. Cook is a member of the USG Pension and Investment Committee and president of the USG Foundation. He is a director of the HR Policy Association’s Center on Executive Compensation and chairs the Department of Management Advisory Board for Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. He is also chairman emeritus of the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago.
