Bernard Labelle

Biography

Bernard Labelle has held the position of Senior Vice-President, Global Human Resources, since April 2013. He manages all operations in this department, including HR business partners, expertise centres, shared services, the Leadership Institute, and the health and wellness program. Major enhancements have been made under his leadership, especially the global harmonization of HR teams and activities, as well as the implementation of many programs to improve the member experience. Bernard joined CGI in 1997 as Director, Consulting Services, and was promoted to Vice-President, Consulting Services, the same year. From 2008 to 2013, he served as Senior Vice-President of the Québec City business unit, overseeing continuous growth. Before joining CGI, Bernard worked in healthcare, university teaching and management consulting. Bernard has garnered a number of awards and honours. He has a master’s of business administration (MBA) in management from Université Laval and is also a certified corporate director (ASC). In 2011, he received the Hermès lifetime achievement award from Université Laval’s Faculty of Business Administration. In September 2011, he was chosen as a Le Soleil/Radio-Canada Lauréat de Québec. In May 2013, he was awarded the Gloire de l’Escolle medal by Université Laval at the Prix Grands diplômés ceremony. In September 2013, he was named one of 40 leaders by the Association des MBA du Québec on the occasion of the Association’s 40th anniversary.
