Ellen Sandberg

Biography

Ellen Sandberg, Executive Director of the CH2M Foundation, is dedicated to bettering the human condition and providing care for others whose life circumstances are challenging but changeable.  She is inspired by the remarkable opportunity that corporations have to assist their customers and clients and plays an integral role in helping CH2M give back to the community.  “I most enjoy developing, launching, and then measuring the impact of programs that help the very people from whom corporate profits are often derived. At the CH2M Foundation, we take it a step further to volunteer our engineering excellence in water and transportation infrastructure to help those without access around the world,” she said. Ellen’s entrepreneurial mindset has helped the CH2M Foundation reach exciting new heights. Believing that our employees’ skilled volunteerism is crucial to laying the foundation for human progress, she sought to bridge the gap between the Foundation and CH2M’s employees after joining the company in 2013. In partnership with the staff in CH2M’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Department, the Foundation granted $50,000 to excellent science, technology, engineering and math education programs and is now building relationships that further the Foundation’s mission.  Furthermore, the CH2M Foundation provides unique opportunities for employees to use their technical skills to better our world by sponsoring projects with organizations such as Bridges to Prosperity, Engineers Without Borders and Water For People. For Ellen, engaging employees with the CH2M Foundation’s mission and programs is one of the most rewarding aspects of her role.
