Jonathan Boulakia

Biography

Jonathan joined Chartwell in January 2008. As Chief Legal Officer he is responsible for all legal and governance matters relating to Chartwell. Jonathan advises Chartwell on acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and corporate finance transactions, as well as on legal issues arising out of Chartwell’s operations. He is also Chartwell's Corporate Secretary and has oversight of Chartwell’s Privacy Officer. Prior to joining Chartwell, Jonathan practiced corporate law at Torys LLP, focusing on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Jonathan attended McGill University for undergraduate studies in Science, has an LL.B from the University of Ottawa Common Law Program and has completed the Canadian Securities Course. Jonathan is on the board and the Governance and Nominating Committee of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. He is fluent in English and French.
