Geoffrey Parker

Biography

Mr. Geoffrey M. Parker is an Independent Director of ChemoCentryx, Inc., Effective May 2015, Mr. Parker was appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company from September 2010 to April 2015, after serving in a consulting capacity since December 2009. From July 2009 to July 2010, Mr. Parker served in a consulting capacity as Chief Business Officer of InteKrin Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company, and previously served as Managing Director and Partner in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. From 1997 to 2009, Mr. Parker directed Goldman Sachs’ West Region Healthcare Investment Banking practice. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Parker was Vice President at Feibusch & Co., a venture capital firm in Larkspur, California. Mr. Parker received his A.B. in Engineering Sciences and Economics from Dartmouth College and his M.B.A. from Stanford University. We believe Mr. Parker is qualified to serve on our board of directors because of his financial sophistication, his experience as the Chief Financial Officer of a public biotechnology company and his management background as an executive in the financial services industry.
