Biography
Dr. Roger C. Lucas Ph.D., is Lead Independent Director of ChemoCentryx, Inc. Since 1995, Dr. Lucas has served as Vice Chairman and a member of the board of directors of Bio-Techne Corporation, formerly Techne Corporation, a biotechnology company. From 1985 to 1995, Dr. Lucas served as the Chief Scientific Officer, Senior Executive Vice President and Secretary of Bio-Techne, and the founder of its Biotechnology Division. Prior to this, Dr. Lucas was Vice President of Research at R&D Systems, now a subsidiary of Bio-Techne, where he worked for over 10 years. Dr. Lucas received his B.S. in biology and chemistry from St. Mary’s College, Minnesota, and his Ph.D. in physiology and cell biology from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Dr. Lucas also presently serves on the board of directors of a number of privately held companies. We believe Dr. Lucas is qualified to serve on our board of directors because of his experience in the healthcare industry as an entrepreneur and a director of a range of public and private companies and his leadership and management experience from his service as an executive for a public life science company.
