Biography
Dr. Biao Li is an Assistant Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at Concordia University. He obtained a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from China University of Geosciences Beijing and a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Calgary. His research expertise is in experimental and computational geomechanics, thermal-hydro-mechanical coupling, soil-structure interaction, and geophysics. He is active in using innovative techniques to conduct researches on energy and environmental related geomechanical problems. During his Ph.D. study, he was awarded the Eyes High international doctoral scholarship from the University of Calgary, and he was awarded the MITACS acceleration internship with BitCan Geosciences & Engineering Inc. from 2013 to 2015. He was named one of Carbon Management Canada’s (CMC’s) highly qualified people from 2011 to 2014. He is indented to develop economic, effective and efficient models for energy-geotechnical-geoenvironmental industries.
Research Interest
Dr. Li's research expertise is in experimental and computational geomechanics, thermal-hydro-mechanical coupling, soil-structure interaction, and geophysics.
