Biography
Mr. David G. Creighton serves as the Vice Chairman of Cordiant Capital Inc. Mr. Creighton has specific responsibility for the firm’s initiatives in blended finance. Mr. Creighton serves as Chairman of EMPEA’s Private Credit Council. He served as Chairman of the Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business. He serves as a Member of the Government of Canada’s Infrastructure Advisory Board. He is also a director of Convergence. On the Convergence board, he represents the interests of the Canadian government whilst also ensuring that Cordiant and its clients remain at the forefront of blended finance initiatives. He serves as a Director of AC Water Canada and the US Institute. He serves as Member of Africa Council at Emerging Markets Private Equity Association. He guest lectures at McGill University and he is a frequent speaker at conferences and in the media on matters relating to the Emerging Markets. Previously, Mr. Creighton was President and Chief Executive Officer at Cordiant Capital Inc. He also co-founded the firm. Mr. Creighton oversaw the management of Cordiant Capital's private equity and loan funds and has been directly involved with the analysis and approval of over 200 private sector investments in more than 55 emerging countries. He Co-Founded International Finance Participation Trust 2004 and International Finance Participation Trust 2001 in 1999 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He was employed at Richardson Greenshields of Canada Limited. He worked for 13 years at Burns Fry, later BMO Nesbitt Burns Limited (U.K.), where as Vice President and Director, Mr. Creighton developed and managed the international fixed income sales team for the firm. During his 13 years at the helm, offices were opened in Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing. Mr. Creighton has accumulated over 30 years experience in the fields of international capital markets, fund management, financial engineering, and securitization. He guest lectures at McGill University and is a frequent speaker at conferences on matters relating to the emerging markets. He is a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society. Mr. Creighton holds a B.A. Hons. (Agricultural Economics) from the University of Guelph (Agriculture) and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D, November 2007).
