Don Mckelvie

Biography

Mr. Don McKelvie is Chief Financial Officer at Cordiant Capital Inc. He was the Interim Chief Executive Officer at the firm. Mr. McKelvie joined Cordiant Capital in 2001. Mr. McKelvie has direct experience in developing Latin American and Asian markets and overseeing foreign operations (marketing and project quotation, planning and execution) via his strong team management skills. These skills have granted him a succession of promotions over the years, leading to Treasurer, VP Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer in 1981 and Managing Director in 1987. His career includes experience in international sales and marketing and project management, notably as concerns the system design, and the supply and installation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment for the shipbuilding industry. For over 25 years, Mr. McKelvie has held senior financial and general management positions with several multi-national corporations including Cadbury Schweppes from 1975 to 1979, Chanel from 1979 to 1987 and Stork from 1987 to 2000. He began his career at Ernst & Young from 1967 to 1973, earning his Chartered Accountant designation. Mr. McKelvie is fluent in French. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course. Mr. McKelvie holds a B.A. from Bishop’s University.
