Biography
Phil gained over thirty years of progressively responsible experience in business & the Human Resources field. He is currently Director of Corporate Services formerly the Chief Human Resources Officer at DST Consulting Engineers Inc. where he is responsible for the quality and depth of talent that differentiate DST in the marketplace while supporting their ability to deliver on its’ strategic goals. At Felix Global Corp. he provided board governance consulting advice, coached executives, delivered career transition support and facilitated business strategic planning. He provided global leadership as Vice President H.R. at Corel Corp. As Senior Vice President H.R. at CIBC Phil led a global, multi-functional team of HR professionals (125) responsible for CIBC’s executive leadership and training programs, organizational development, executive resourcing, global recruitment strategies, and business process outsourcing. He sponsored the successful implementation of PeopleSoft across CIBC and headed the HR function of CIBC World Markets, Canada. Prior to joining CIBC in 1994, Phil spent 12 years with Northern Telecom (NT) in global strategic and operational roles within North America and Europe. His last position at NT was Director Organizational Development. Phil began his career in H.R. with CAE Electronics, Montreal. He graduated from McGill University with a degree in Industrial Relations and minor in Economics. In the August 2006 publication of HR Professional magazine Phil was selected as one of 5 Stars of HR Innovation in Canada. He was the recipient of the Human Resource Professional Leadership Award 2005 in recognition of a leading senior human resources professional contributing to the advancement of the H.R. profession, through demonstration in their work of strong linkages between corporate strategies and H.R. initiatives. In addition, consideration is given to participation in community volunteer activities and involvement in the Human Resource Professional Association.
