Biography
Dr. Stephen T. Worland, also known as Steve, Ph.D. has been President and Chief Executive Officer of eFFECTOR Therapeutics, Inc. since May 2012. Dr. Worland has extensive experience in global technology, infectious disease and healthcare businesses. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Anadys Pharmaceuticals Inc. since August 24, 2007 until November 2011. He served as Executive Vice President of Research and Development of Anadys Pharmaceuticals Inc. since October 6, 2004. Dr. Worland served as Chief Scientific Officer of Anadys Pharmaceuticals Inc. from March 2001 to October 6, 2004 and President of Pharmaceuticals since June 15, 2006. He served as Executive Vice President Pharmaceuticals of Anadys Pharmaceuticals Inc. from December 19, 2005 to July 15, 2006. Dr. Worland served as Vice President and Head of Antiviral Research of Agouron Pharmaceuticals, a Pfizer Company from 1999 to 2001 and also served as its Director of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
