Biography
Dr. Cameron Cartiere is a creative practitioner specializing in public art, community engagement, urban renewal, and curatorial practice. Cameron is the author of RE/Placing Public Art, co-editor of The Practice of Public Art and The Everyday Practice of Public Art: Art, Space, and Social Inclusion, and co-author of the Manifesto of Possibilities: Commissioning Public Art in the Urban Environment. She is the co-editor of the journal, Public Art Dialogue. Cameron's SSHRC funded research is on the sustainable impacts of public art. Her collaborative project, Border Free Bees, works to transform neglected greenways into wild pollinator pastures using public art as the driver. Cameron is the founder of chART Projects. From this creative base, the methodology of collaborative public practice can be found in the work of The chART Collective and chART Public Art Marpole. chART is currently at the Oak Park Fieldhouse.
