Biography
Caroline Park is a sound/media artist who creates customized software for solo performances, collaborative improvisations, immersive sound installations and experimental studio compositions. Her work has been featured at Boston Cyberarts, Pixilerations, Musicacoustica Beijing, SEAMUS, Deep Listening Conference, Ende Tymes, and Tone Deaf Festival, at venues including ICA Boston, Jordan Hall, Pioneer Works, New Museum, and the Stone. Publication/press can be found in The Wire, Disquiet, Decoder Magazine, EKHO, and in Electronic and Experimental Music: Technology, Music, and Culture (Routledge, 2016, ed. 5) by Thom Holmes. Park earned her Ph.D. in Multimedia and Electronic Music Experiments at Brown University (MEME@Brown). She is a founding member of OPENSIGNAL, a group of artists concerned with the state of gender and race within electronic/computer-based art practices.
