Biography
Maya Suess works between Vancouver and New York City, using video, performance and installation to toy with identity, sexuality and personal responsibility. She has exhibited in galleries, museums, film festivals and theaters in Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan. She holds a BFA in Media Arts from Emily Carr Institute, and an MFA in contemporary performance from Simon Fraser University. Suess has received numerous grants for her work, including a 2009 Production Grant from The New York State Council on the Arts for her recent work It It and the Gimme Box.
