Biography
Dr. Theresa Podrebarac joins enGene as Chief Medical Officer from AbbVie where she served as Vice President, Immunology Clinical Development. Prior to AbbVie, Theresa was Vice President of Early Clinical Development and Immunology at Biogen where she successfully led the strategy to develop several compounds in autoimmune and fibrotic diseases including SLE and scleroderma. During her 15-year career in industry,
Research Interest
she has supported the approvals of Tysabri™ for multiple sclerosis and Rituxan™ for rheumatoid arthritis and championed the development of tools and techniques for early proof of concept across many disease states including inflammatory bowel disease. Theresa is a board-certified rheumatologist and received her M.D. from the University of Western Ontario, her MSc in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Ottawa and post-doctoral training in T cell immunology at Harvard University and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
