Biography
John joined ENPAR in 2009 and has been involved in the design and use of electrochemical equipment for water purification in the mining industry. John earned his M.Sc. in 2001 and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2005 from the University of Guelph in Guelph. Previously, John completed a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (1994) and an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry (1997) from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA. He has specific expertise in applied organic chemistry and water treatment and engineering principles of physical and chemical processes for extracting valuable substances from raw materials and by-products; specifically, solid mine waste. He has studied polymer decomposition via thermolysis, the use of palladium as a catalyst in organic reactions, and has broad knowledge of organosulfur chemistry. John has 5 years’ experience in applied organic chemistry and 5 years’ experience in applied electrochemistry as it applies to wastewater treatment.
