Dr. Xuejin Ruan

Biography

A Senior Software Programmer in the Software Development department, Xuejin Ruan, Ph.D., helps improve EA’s products and software, including the interactive mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) capabilities in ENVISION. She brings to her position extensive experience in GIS programming, web service development, data-based modelling, system integration, programming and database management. Previously, she worked as a GIS programmer and senior engineer for the government of Pierce County, Washington (U.S.), and as a research assistant at the University of Minnesota, where she earned her doctorate degree in geographic information sciences and a master’s degree in computer science. She also holds a master’s degree in economic geography and a bachelor’s degree in urban and environmental studies from Peking University.
