Mark Morel

Biography

A leader in data extraction, transformation, loading and master data management for over 30 years, Mark Morel is Chief Data Officer at Environics Analytics, leading the Data Governance Office in EA’s Information Technology department. Tasked with ensuring the integrity and security of both customer and company data, he acts as a liaison between IT and internal and external consumers of data to make certain that technology applications meet business needs. His career highlights include serving as Director of Data Services at Compusearch, where he fully automated the daily ETL (extract, transform, load) processes for a leading auto manufacturer and automated the weekly ETL processes on all point-of-sale data for a pharmacy chain with over 300 locations. Mark also created a data dashboard enabling marketers to access market research reports using FORTRAN IV, long before the term “data dashboard” ever existed. Mark is a Certified General Accountant and earned an honours diploma in computer programming from Control Data Institute.
