Dr. Dylan Chase

Biography

Dr. Chase grew up in the town of Sherwood Park, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Prior to pursuing a degree in optometry, Dr. Chase received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta in 2012, graduating with distinction. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2016, graduating on the Dean’s Honours List. In his final year of optometric studies, Dr. Chase completed a four-month ocular disease rotation at an ophthalmology care centre in Edmonton. There, he worked alongside doctors with a special focus in intraocular inflammatory diseases, glaucoma management, surgical correction of cataracts, strabismus and droopy eyelids, and paediatric eye care. Dr. Chase was also involved in the use of modern technology in the diagnosis of ocular disease and trained in the pre- and post-operative care of patients. Dr. Chase then completed primary care rotations in Brampton, Ontario, as well as in Edmonton and its surrounding areas. Outside of work, Dr. Chase is an avid hobby musician with a keen interest in singing and playing the guitar. During his time as an optometry student, he was proud to have been able to perform three years in a row at the annual Coffee House. An event put on by the Lions Club to help to raise funds to purchase and train seeing eye dogs for the visually impaired in Waterloo. Dr. Chase also enjoys playing golf and watching the Toronto Raptors. Dr. Chase joined eyeDOCS in 2016. He is excited to have made Ottawa his home and looks forward to providing care for you and your family!
