Biography
Professor Allen F. Ust, CPM, MAS, is a graduate of Trenton State College, Ewing Township, New Jersey with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice with minor studies in Psychology and Sociology. He received his Master’s degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2009. Professor Ust began his distinguished 28 year career as a police officer for the City of Hackensack Police Department where he served in a variety of assignments in the Patrol Division, Detective Division and the Juvenile Bureau. While serving in the aforementioned assignments, Professor Ust moved up the supervisory ranks to Captain where he retired as the Commander of the Juvenile Bureau, on December 31, 2004. Prior to coming to Fairleigh Dickinson University, Professor Ust was the former Undersheriff of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office from 2005 to 2010. He was assigned as the Administrator of the Corrections Division for the Sheriff’s Office with oversight of the Bergen County Jail. During his career, Professor Ust has developed and implemented several juvenile programs in an effort to re-direct at risk juveniles and offer adolescents of our communities’ alternative career choices as first responders.
