Biography
Dr. Fox studied at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom, and was awarded the MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice and PhD in Sociology with a research proposal concerning police guidance and doctrine on homicide and child abuse investigation in the UK and USA. In September 2005 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Buckinghamshire University, UK , in recognition of his work nationally in connection with child abuse and pedophile investigation. Dr. Fox was a police officer in the UK until 2006, including 8 years as a Detective Superintendent leading a department of approximately 150 detectives investigating homicide, child abuse, pedophile crime, hi-tech crime and economic crime. He has managed teams of officers carrying out many lengthy investigations into homicide, organized abuse within children's homes and other serious child abuse.
Research Interest
He has a long association with FDU having taught courses on Comparative Criminal Justice Systems and Criminal Profiling at FDU’s Metropolitan Campus as well as lecturing at the Wroxton Campus in the United Kingdom. In addition to his work at FDU, Dr. Fox is currently a Senior Lecturer in Police Studies at the University of Portsmouth in England. Dr. Fox is regularly employed by the UK National College of Policing to train senior homicide detectives and he has also been employed as a visiting professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Dr. Fox is primarily located in the UK but also has an apartment in Brooklyn, New York and spends a considerable amount of time in the United States.
