Biography
Dr. Malgorzata Slugocki received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Long Island University Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy in 2005, graduating as class valedictorian with the highest general standing in which she received the College Gold Medal. During her final year at LIU, Dr. Slugocki was a recipient of the Gateway to Research Scholarship from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. The scholarship enabled her to participate in a pharmacokinetic research project on a perfused isolated rat kidney, studying drug metabolism during the pre-clinical phase of drug development. After graduating, Dr. Slugocki joined a Barnabas Health home infusion company where she enjoyed an eight-year career as a clinical pharmacist. Her position involved the coordination and clinical monitoring of different types of home infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, immune-globulins, antibiotics, total parenteral nutrition and pain management. Dr. Slugocki enjoys sharing her extensive clinical experience with the students and motivating them to become future pharmacy leaders.
