Biography
Michael Sanicola is a former Lieutenant -Detective Squad Commander with the New York City Police Department. He served over twenty-two years in Brooklyn’s East Flatbush 67th and Crown Heights 71st Precincts. In the final phase of his career Professor Sanicola was the Commanding Officer and Advance Team Leader to the Chief of Department. In this assignment he was responsible 24/7 for the day to day operations of all five NYPD enforcement bureaus and responded to and investigated all police-involved shootings. Professor Sanicola holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York and a graduate degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Following his career in the NYPD, Professor Sanicola transitioned into security management and was the Director of Public Safety at the Cooper Union and the Executive VP and COO at Bo Dietl and Associates. Professor Sanicola is a Detective with the Pinellas County Sheriffs Office and is assigned to the Cold Case Homicide Unit.
