Javier San Juan

Biography

Mr. Javier San Juan serves as Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer and President of L’Oréal Latin America. Mr. Juan is a Co-Founder of Gibraltar Ventures. He served as the President - Latin America Hispanic Region at L’Oréal Latin America from 2014 to 2016. He served as Co-Chief Executive Officer and President of L’Oréal Canada Inc. from April 2006 to February 2014. As Head of Canada, he managed one of L’Oreal’s most important global markets. His mandate was to develop L’Oréal’s stable of brands in Canada and he successfully grew the Canadian business at twice the rate of the overall cosmetics market. He has been an executive with the L’Oréal Group for over 25 years. He began his career at L’Oréal on the sales and marketing side of the organisation and was later promoted to Director of Operations and Finance in Russia; thereafter he was promoted to Country Manager for Romania, for Argentina and later for Uruguay. Prior to his joining L’Oreal, he was an Executive in the Finance Department of Sandoz (today a part of Novartis) and prior to, also worked at one of Sandoz’s subsidiaries in the Philippines as Financial Manager. He served as Vice Chairman of Gibraltar Growth Corporation since June 11, 2015. He has been a Director of The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited since March 2016. He serves on the Board of the Montreal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, serves as a Director of Just for Laughs Festival and serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of the Schulich School of Business. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Pharmascience Inc. Mr. Juan also serves as a Board Member of the Luminato Festival in Toronto. He has been a Director of LXRandCo, Inc. since June 9, 2017. He serves as Member of Advisory Board at Gibraltar Ventures. He served as Director of Atrium Innovations Inc. since 2013. He served as a Director of Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. He served as a Director at DAVIDsTEA Inc. He served as a Director of Sonomax Technologies Inc. from June 2010 to February 16, 2013. Mr. Juan holds a Master’s Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University ICADE in Spain, as well as a Post-graduate diploma from the HEC in Paris. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University ICADE in Spain.
