Biography
In June 2015, Rob met the inventor of RFID, Dr. Mario Cardullo and they began to parse how one could create and use practical microscopic RFID devices. nR, LLC was incorporated to bring that vision to market. In April, 2017 field tests of functional prototypes for multimodal authentication were conducted at SAS2017 in Washington DC. In August of 2007, Rob founded ONE Nano to create and market nanodevices for biomarker characterization and chemical sensing. In addition to sensor technology, projects have included a wide range of state of the art materials and processes. Rob enjoyed a decade with Intel Corporation starting May 1998 following post-doctoral research at University of California, Berkeley & Cornell University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in 1996. He served 6 years in the Intel corporate materials department and became Litho Group Manager in early 2003. He was also co-founded the Ronler Acres Chemical Support Group and the Nanotechnology Environmental Health & Safety Working Group. In August of 2004 he was named Researcher-in-Residence to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory was PI for a team of 6 researchers. He mentored programs at institutions including NIST, UT, Cornell, UNC, UWI, UCB, ISMT Resist Advisory Group & Arch Interface. He won 2 Environmental Excellence Awards and 2 TMG Excellence Awards at Intel. In October 2005, Rob was awarded the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement by the University of Delaware. Rob holds 43 issued US (and several foreign) patents, has published extensively and lectures on nanotechnology and forecasting. Rob's research interests include: nanostructured matter, pre-organization and self-assembly phenomena, bio-nanotechnology and smart materials.
