Biography
Kurt A. Strobele is chairman of the Hatch Group of companies. Kurt has been with Hatch since 1973, when he joined the firm after receiving his PhD, Mechanical Engineering, from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He had received his BSc, Engineering, Cum Laude, from Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1968. He has more than 40 years of experience in metallurgical plant design, process consulting and project and construction management, and as a leader of scale-ups for innovative processes and technologies around the world. Kurt has held several senior positions within Hatch, including, Vice-President, Computer Systems; Vice-President, Engineering; Managing Director, Industrial Minerals; and Managing Director, Light Metals, which included scale-up and commercialization of new processes.
