Biography
Andre Lauzon was appointed Vice President, Manitoba Business Unit in August 2016. As leader of the Manitoba Business Unit, Andre provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of Hudbay's activities in Manitoba. He is responsible for ensuring a high-performance, safety-focused culture that is capable of creating growth and adapting to change. Andre has experience with both open pit and underground mines. He has worked in and supported projects and mines in a wide range of challenging locations and conditions, from Voisey's Bay in Newfoundland, to Turkey, Alaska, Australia, Indonesia, Brazil and most recently, northern Ontario. Andre has direct leadership experience as a mine manager, acting general manager and director technical services. He has demonstrated success in continuous improvement, strategic planning and safety initiatives. He is the third generation in his family to work in mining. Andre holds an Honours BSc in Geology and an MSc in Geostatistics both from Laurentian University.
