Mr. Mayo M. Schmidt, B.B.A. has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Hydro One Limited since September 3, 2015. Mr. Schmidt has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Hydro One Inc. since September 03, 2015. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Viterra Inc. (also known as Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc) since 2000 and was its President since 2005. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Viterra Ltd. During his tenure at Viterra, he exercised a disciplined and decisive approach that shaped Viterra and transformed the once regionally based organization into a global enterprise that is represented across four continents and supported by a global intelligence network and a strong financial foundation. He focused on operational excellence to create greater value for customers and shareholders. Through is strategic direction, Viterra established a platform for healthy growth at a time when demand for food was steadily rising. He joined Viterra in 2000. He served as Chief Executive of Louis Dreyfus Commodities B.V. He served as the President of ConAgra Grain, Canada and spearheaded its expansion. He served as an Executive Vice-President of Domestic and International Operations at KBC Trading and Processing Company, a global subsidiary of ConAgra Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Agricore United since June 2007 and served as its President. He led the reorganization of ConAgra Global Specialty Crops businesses. He was employed at General Mills Inc. throughout the United States and held a number of key management positions of increasing responsibility. He serves as a Director of The Conference Board of Canada. He serves as Director of Prairie Malt Ltd. and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Mr. Schmidt has been a Director of Hydro One Limited since August 31, 2015 and Hydro One Inc. since July 17, 2015. He serves as an Independent Director of Agrium Inc. from February 11, 2013. He serves as Director of Global Transportation Hub Authority. He serves on Washburn University's Foundation board of Trustees. He serves on the Applied Portfolio Management Advisory Board for the Washburn University School of Business as an Executive in Residence. He has been an Independent Director of Agrium Inc., since January 19, 2015. He served as a Director of Viterra Inc. since March 31, 2005. He served as a Director of Agricore United since June 2007. He served as a Trustee at The Conference Board Inc. He served as a Member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executive Officers (open to the top 150 Canadian corporations), the C.D. Howe Institute and Governance Committee Member, the Harvard’s Private and Public, Scientific, Academic and Consumer Food Policy Group (PAPSAC). He was recognized in the Financial Post's Top 10 Chief Executive Officer Scorecard Rankings in 2011 and was named Chief Executive Officer of the Year in 2009 by Canadian Business Magazine. He received the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal and was named one of Saskatchewan's Top 10 Men of Influence in 2005. He was team captain of both the football and track team and received the Outstanding Player Award for Football. He earned both athletic and academic scholarships at Washburn. He was honored as Washburn's 2003 Alumni Fellow. Mr. Schmidt earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Washburn University in 1980.
