Biography
Prior to joining Innovate Calgary, Peter held numerous executive and technology development leadership positions in the private sector, and has been active as an investor, consultant and board member with many technology companies. Peter was at the heart of the digital and wireless communications revolution, spending 21 years at Nortel where he was Vice President of Wireless R&D. Subsequently, he was CEO of Global Thermoelectric, an alternative energy/fuel cell company. Peter is an Electrical Engineer, but has broad technology interests in many technology sectors. He is past chair of Calgary Technologies Inc. (CTI), the University of Calgary Engineering External Research Advisory board and the UofC Project Management Advisory board. He also served on the Alberta Science and Research Advisory board (ASRA), where he was chair of the technology commercialization task force and co-chair of the access to capital task force.
