Biography

Emanuele Orgiu is Associate Professor at INRS-EMT (Quebec, CA) and Assistant Professor at the University of Strasbourg (ISIS, FR). He holds a Ph.D. (highest marks) in physics of organic devices (2008, University of Cagliari) and works in the fields of materials science and physics, with a focus on interfaces and transport in both 2D-material and organic semiconductor- based (nano) devices. FELLOWSHIPS and AWARDS Nov. 2016 Elected as a member of the Young Academy of Europe, whose aim is to foster collaboration among outstanding young scientists and to promote networking, scientific exchange and science policy. July 2016 Recognized as a 2017 Emerging Investigator by Journ. Mater. Chem. C and invited to submit a contribution. Nov. 2014 Scientific Excellence Prize Awarded to a national base (top 10%). July 2014 Recognized as a 2015 Emerging Investigator by ChemComm and invited for a special issue. Mar. 2013 MIT TR35 Award (France) awarded the 10 most innovative personalities <35 yo in France in 2012. Research Interest

The ORGIU research group focuses on understanding novel electronic and optical phenomena occuring in molecular solids such as organic (semi)conductors or 2D materials such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs). The research group activity involves micro- and nanofabrication of two- and three-terminal devices (capacitors, diodes, transistors) and their characterization at low T (down to 1.8 K) and under high magnetic fields (up to 9 T). In particular, the research interests of the newly formed group will be devoted to the understanding of magnetoresistance, thermal transport and thermoelectricity within the above-mentioned (semi)conductor systems. All these combined measurements can provide a great deal of information on the electronic properties of the materials and their potential for being used in applications for energy or electronics.
