Biography
University education Diploma of Senior Engineer, Hydraulics / Hydrology, University of Tunis (National School of Engineers of Tunis - ENIT) Ph.D. Civil Engineering - Water Resources, Colorado State University, United States Postdoctoral fellowship, Statistical Hydrology, Université de Moncton
Research Interest
The work of Professor Ouarda and his team is concerned with local and regional estimation of extreme hydrological events, hydrological forecasts, design of measurement networks, analysis of spatial and temporal variability of hydrological variables, modeling of water the impact of climate change on hydro-meteorological variables, homogenization of data sets, modeling of uncertainty, risk and reliability in hydrology, analysis of water resources systems, estimation of damage and changes in hydrological regimes. He is also interested in the development of tools to assist in the design of hydraulic structures and in statistical hydrology in the northern environment, mainly due to the influence of ice cover on reservoir or upstream analysis of hydrological variables in a northern environment in the context of climate change.
