RESEARCH: Organic chemistry; natural products biosynthesis; the biochemistry of secondary metabolism; nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry; rational modification of biosynthetic pathways in bacteria to produce novel compounds with the potential to be pharmacologically relevant. TEACHING: Organic chemistry; structural spectrometry; bioorganic chemistry.
