Biography
Dr. Seema Ganatra graduated from the doctor of dental surgery (DDS) program at the University of Alberta in 1989. She attended a general practice residency program at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon from 1989-1990. She attended a specialty program in oral and maxillofacial pathology at Indiana University School of Dentistry and obtained a specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial pathology in 1995 and a master’s of science in dentistry degree in 1996. She obtained post-graduate training in oral and maxillofacial radiology at Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1998. Seema is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (Oral Pathology) and is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Prior to her appointment at University of Alberta, she had academic appointments at University of Nebraska, University of Pittsburgh and University of Michigan. She is currently a clinical professor at the University of Alberta, School of Dentistry and is involved in teaching of dental and dental hygiene students, patient care (oral medicine and oral pathology consultation service) and participates in the oral pathology biopsy service.
