Biography
Len Murray has over 35 years of civil/geotechnical and environmental engineering experience throughout Canada, USA, Central and South America, Southeast Asia, UK, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Middle East and Africa. Key projects include Greens Creek, Ok Tedi, Hidden Valley, Escondida, Kemano, and Seymour Falls dam. He brings a global business perspective to the role of President, complementing his extensive experience in design and construction of mining developments, earth dams, tunnels, hydro-electric, and transportation projects. He is also experienced in social and environmental impact studies and permitting for mining projects. Len first joint KCB in 1981 as a geotechnical engineer and later became manager of the BC Group Mining division. In 2006, he took over the position of Vice President, Mining Environmental Group, and in 2014 he was appointed President and CEO.Len received his M.Sc. in engineering geology from Durham University in England. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and the states of Washington and Alaska, as well as in Queensland, Australia and Papua New Guinea.
