Biography
Shane Johnson has over 35 years of project management, design, construction and commissioning experience on hydroelectric, irrigation, highways, rapid transit, pump storage, drainage, flood protection, water supply and environmental projects. He joined KCB’s predecessor company in 1979 as a Hydrotechnical Engineer and over the years has worked on a wide range of civil infrastructure projects in many countries. He was named Vice President, Power & Transportation in 2002. His areas of experience include project and design team management, project planning, economic and financial analysis, risk assessment, due-diligence, schedule and cost management, quality management and technical engineering design. Shane has substantial experience in computer and digital technologies related to engineering applications and solutions, information management and data processing. His experience includes projects in Canada, the US and overseas for both private sector and government clients. Over his carer he has worked on a variety of key projects that have included the Coquihalla Highway in BC in the mid 1980’s, a 2 year assignment in Indonesia on a water resources development program, 6 years working in Ontario on small hydro projects and the challenging Nam Theun 2 hydroelectric project in Laos. Shane has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Water Sciences Engineering, both from the University of Saskatchewan. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and Ontario.
