Dr. Peter Liu

Biography

Dr. Peter Liu received his medical degree from the University of Manitoba in 1978. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Alberta Hospital and went on to complete Fellowships in CT imaging and Pediatric Radiology at St. Michael’s Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, respectively. Dr. Liu was admitted into The Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) in 1978 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1982. A highly accomplished medical professional, Dr. Liu joined KMH as Medical Director, MRI, in 2003. Prior to joining KMH, he served in a variety of roles including: Staff Radiologist, Scarborough General hospital from 1993 – 2010; Chief and Medical Director, Dept. of Diagnostic Imaging, The Scarborough Hospital from 2003 – 2007; Associate Chief, Dept. of Diagnostic Imaging Scarborough General Hospital, 2002; Clinical Director, The Scarborough Hospital MRI Centre from 1999 – 2007; Associate Staff. Dept. of Radiological Sciences, The Toronto Hospital from 1992 – 1994; Associate Staff Radiologist, North York Branson Hospital, 1988; Staff Consultant, Dept. of Radiology, Hugh MacMillan Medical Centre from 1984-1993; Staff Radiologist, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Alberta, 1982; and Staff Radiologist, The Hospital for Sick Children for 1984 – 1993. Dr. Liu’s academic appointments include: Lecturer, University of Toronto between the years 1984 – 1988 and Assistant Professor, University of Toronto from 1988 – 1994. Recognized for his research, Dr. Liu is the recipient for several research awards and has contributed to numerous research studies, publications, paper presentations on a wide range of topics related to MRI, radiology and more.
