Biography
John F. Elliot, MD, PhD obtained his Doctor of Medicine with Distinction and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Alberta. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University and returned to the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Alberta. He is currently a professor and Research Scientist of the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research. The Canadian Institute for Health Research, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation support his research. Dr. Elliot is an internationally-recognized immunologist with research interests in diabetes mellitus (type 1) and immune responses to viral infection.
