Takahito Aiki

Biography

Mr. Takahito Aiki, also known as Taka, serves as Vice President at Kamakura Shinsho, Ltd. Mr. Aiki served as a Managing Executive Officer of Rakuten, Inc. from February 2013 to April 3, 2017 and also served as its President of Digital Contents Company since April 2016. He served as the President of Rakuten Communications Corporation since May 2010. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Rakuten Europe. He served as the Chief Executive Officer at Rakuten Kobo Inc. since February 2014. In 2007, he joined Rakuten, Inc., where he was assigned to the its struggling telecoms business, Fusion Communications. Along with leading Fusion, he has also managed 6 other Rakuten Group businesses, including Media and Marketing Research. He served as a Vice President of Fusion Communications Corporation. He has a wealth of experience. He began his career at Japanese telecoms giant NTT before embarking on his first of two successful stints at global management consultancy Bain & Company, where he was named Coach of the Year and managed its Project of the Year in 2006. He also spent 2 years at Tsutaya, Japan’s largest chain of video rental shops and bookstores. He helmed corporate planning and marketing for Tsutaya Online, where he led growth in online membership from 2 to 5 million members. He serves as the Chairman at Rakuten Kobo Inc. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Director of VIBER Media Limited since January 2016. He served as the Chairman and Representative Director at Fusion Communications Corporation. He serves as a Director at Kamakura Shinsho, Ltd. He served as a Representative Director of Rakuten Communications Corporation since May 2010. He served as Director of Eu Rho at Rakuten, Inc. since July 1, 2016. Mr. Aiki graduated from Cornell’s MBA program in 1999.
